Josie is the owner of Josie Mines, LSW, LLC. She has over 17 years of experience working in a wide variety of legal, social, and human services settings. Josie started her career as an immigration and family law attorney representing victims of abuse and other violent crimes; advocating and providing holistic legal services in coordination with other social service providers. Josie is an established government grant writer with over 12 years of experience executing strategic funding and development work for non-profit service providers. Recent professional experience includes working in a clinical/medical healthcare setting, with a focus on grief, crisis intervention, and assessments for family members of those experiencing acute and chronic health issues. She has also worked in child welfare, providing advocacy and support to indigent parents and consulting and coordinating services with a multidisciplinary legal team. 

 

Josie Mines earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of St. Thomas in 2001. She then went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2004. After working in the legal services and development fields for over 16 years, wanting to combine her passion for advocacy and holistic services for vulnerable populations, she was accepted into Colorado State University’s MSW program in 2017.  She graduated in 2019, passed the state licensure test, and became and Licensed Social Worker (LSW).

 

Josie has two small children with whom she loves to be outside exploring in her free time. Josie also enjoys yoga, time with friends, and planning future adventures.
