My name is Thomas YI. In 2021, I graduated with my Bachelor degree from the Social Work Program in Metropolitan State University of Denver. The reason why I have become so interested in helping kids in general started with volunteering for Denver Children’s Advocacy Center. I worked there for three years and it was the best time of my life. After that, I worked a year with The Bridge Project as an instructor for an after school program. That was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. Then I interned for House of Hope for a year as a Children Caseworker. This job really had me thinking my main reason as a social worker and it was to help all kids. Now I am a Mentor and helping kids to better themselves for the near future.
In general, I am very passionate towards all kids. However being part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, my heart leans more towards LGBTQ+ kids. The reason being because how I as well also experience hardship in my past and I really want to help these kids to know it gets better and I promise that. Not everyone can go through life peacefully, but with my long years of training and helping kids, I know I can make this world a better place for our kids.  ​
